Second Stimulus Check Update and Stimulus Package: Next Week is Crucial and What to Expect?

The next couple of weeks is when the next stimulus package is hopefully going to be announced, and it is expected to include things like additional $1,200 stimulus check, an expansion of unemployment benefits and maybe some additional food assistance (SNAP food stamps) and rental protections. At the end of July, congress will be coming back into session for a short period of time before their summer recess in August. During this time many of the temporary CARES act policies that were implemented to help though the pandemic and the lockdown, will be expiring by the end of this month. These next two weeks will be extra important because it is in these few weeks that congress will need to figure out what types, and how much assistance, there will be for Americas who are increasingly unemployed, stuck at home and still getting sick, likely through the rest of the year.
