5 Minute Daily Dose: Second Stimulus Check and Stimulus Package Update Unemployment PUA Cliff 7/23
$600 PUA Unemployment Benefit is in the discussion. Republican law makers are discussing the possibility of a short-term unemployment bill, that allows people to keep receiving the $600 extra monthly benefit from the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) unemployment benefits. Right now, the clock is ticking, for congress and the White House to find common ground for the next stimulus package. At this rate it is not clear they will be able to put a Stimulus bill together in time before we hit the CARES act Cliff next week. This is when all the CARES act provisions like extended unemployment and eviction protections are scheduled to end. With the urgency of the Care Act cliff and the unlikelihood of Congress getting a bill done in time, there has been some talk of a real quick, side bill to temporarily extend Unemployment until a full bill, can be negotiated. This bill would be for only a short-term extension of the extra $600 PUA money. In this video we are going to talk about what is the likely hood of a one time, short-term, Unemployment extension bill, before the next big stimulus package. Do not forget to like and subscribe.
